Owner, AMS Licensed Primary Montessori Teacher
My name is Viola Dabrowska.
I was born and raised in Warsaw, Poland. I studied at Warsaw University, and upon graduating with an MA in social work, I began working as a case worker and educator at a children's home in Warsaw. After I moved to the US, I worked in early childhood education and aftercare programs where I taught toddlers, preschoolers and elementary school children.
I discovered the Montessori method during a professional development class for early childhood. One of the assignments had us visit different schools to see how they functioned. I chose to visit a Montessori school in the neighborhood where I worked.
I was charmed by the peaceful yet productive atmosphere in the classroom, by the materials that looked different from the usual preschool toys, and by the focus with which the children were engaging in play and doing their individual jobs.
Inspired by what I saw, I started the Montessori Teacher's Training Program at Contra Costa College in California, and became a Montessori teacher myself.
After over ten years working with children ages 2 to 6 as an AMS (American Montessori Society) licensed primary Montessori teacher, I decided to make my dream of opening my own Montessori program for young children a reality.
Come and see our beautiful Montessori space!
